|Hi, I have an original Hitachi MV-1U for sale in
museum quality condition.
Like most electronics buffs, I have never seen or
even heard of this set before, and no one else

The only verifiable information I have found was
from a 1972 Press Release, attached hereto.
The MV-1U was the world's first television with
"pause" technology containing a 14-inch screen
and a smaller 9-inch screen.
Today, we simply hit the pause button on our
wireless remote control, but back in 1972, it was
a little more involved,
requiring the use of a "hard drive" spinning at
3,600 rpm to store the image from the larger
screen and reproduce it on the smaller screen.
Due to the exorbitant cost of these sets back in
1972 and '73, very few were ever sold to
and most went to corporations, schools and
hospitals, and then discarded (apparently).
This particular set powers up and all the buttons
and slide bars work as they should. There is
absolutely nothing wrong with it.
